FILLM, the International Federation for Modern Languages and Literatures, traces its origins back to the founding of the Commission Internationale d'Histoire Littéraire Moderne in Oslo in 1928. It was reorganized into its present form in 1951 following the establishment of UNESCO. FILLM is affiliated with the International Council for Philosophy and Humanistic Studies (CIPSH), a UNESCO-sponsored non-governmental organization representing major branches of knowledge.
